One of the joys of working with young people and at a school is that one can see great things coming in the future. That can be said about our next “See the Vision” winner. Alizae Stinehart is a senior from Brandon Valley High School and she is laying the foundation for a great future. Her active leadership in FFA activities at BVHS and hard work at the CTE Academy indicate that this young lady is going to proceed with success. Alizae enrolled in Health Careers in the fall semester and EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) this spring semester at the CTE Academy. Her teacher, Mrs. Drummond, says her student is hard working and has a passion to take care of others in the medical field. The teacher commented, “I am excited for Alizae and enjoy having her as a part of my class. I know she will go great things in her future.” Alizae plans to attend Southeast Technical College for a Paramedic Science Degree. Leadership, passion and hard working. Alizae – we think you have a great future!

Where is Dylan? Answer: In the other kitchen helping students out before the end of class. It is not unusual to find our Jefferson High School student, Dylan Naucke, helping other Culinary students. Dylan is a student that can be described as supportive, specific and thorough. Mrs. Whempner, Dylan’s Culinary Teacher, described Dylan as accurate, meticulous and “locked in”. The teacher said, “I know I can count on Dylan to listen carefully to my directions. Dylan is so attentive!” Dylan is known to be prepared for class, prepared to help other students and prepared to take on difficult culinary tasks in the kitchen. We think our culinary “See the Vision” winner is “locked in” and has the key to a great future! #siouxfalls #culinaryarts #sfcteacademy #careerandtechnicaleducation

Abe Schieuer is a senior from Roosevelt High School and he is a veteran CTE student. Abe has taken all the CTE Cyber Academy classes. He has taken Computer Hardware and Software, Networking, Cybersecurity and now he is taking Senior Capstone in Computer Networking. Our outstanding student wants to make a career of network operations and already works part-time in the security camera industry. Abe plans to attend Southeast Technical College next year for computer network administration. Listening to Abe while he is describing his Senior Capstone project is fascinating. With the use of multiple cameras set in our computer networking room, our future network engineer can determine the identity of students that should and should not be in the classroom on his laptop. Abe will tell you it is a work in progress but his teacher, Mr. Brockmueller, will tell you that Abe is successfully researching and developing a facial recognition system for businesses or schools. Congratulations, Abe Schieuer! We think your work deserves special recognition!

”They are one of the best.” How many times have you hear that said about a couple teenagers? It was said about two students that we have in Automotive Technology. Jayda Hanson, from Tri-Valley High School, and Donovan Rice, from Brandon Valley High School, were teamed together to work on their first engine in Automotive Engine Performance. Our Automotive Teacher, Mr. McCaulsky, soon realized that his two students worked hard, stayed on task and had an eye for detail that is so important in engine repair. Jayda and Donovan are described as focused, patient while waiting for assistance and are willing to help others in class. Mr. McCaulsky said, “This team has demonstrated a positive attitude, exceptional effort and class excellence. They are one of the best!” Team Jayda and Donovan, congratulations on a well-deserved “See the Vision” award!

“I am ambitious.” Those are words of Aspen Trull, a 9th grader from Lincoln High School. That ambition caught our attention. Our ambitious freshman enrolled in Introduction to Audio/Visual and Integrated Speech this spring semester. Aspen’s Integrated Speech Teacher, Mrs. Mushaney, stated that Aspen brings energy and an insightful approach to the classroom and to his school work. The teacher said, “Aspen can effectively communicate what he feels and thinks in a way that engages the listener.” Aspen’s Media Arts Teacher, Mrs. Mehlert added, “Aspen is a student who works hard to go above and beyond the minimum requirements for his Media Arts projects. He is willing to step out of his comfort zone and is a wonderful addition to the Media Arts class.” Aspen, we see your ambition and your approach and we think you be an amazing addition to any undertaking you pursue. Congratulations on being a “See the Vision” winner!
