āI like to apply the things we learn to projects and I like using the flight simulators.ā Those are the words of Savannah Woods, a sophomore from Roosevelt High School. Savannah spent part of her fall semester at the CTE Academy taking Aviation I. What we learned about this Rough Rider is that this girl has goals and her teacher, Mrs. Mehlert, will attest and affirm her studentās determination. The teacher said, āSavannah is an incredibly hard worker who knows where she wants to go in life!ā There is no doubt that Savannah is definitive and resolute with her goals ā āI plan to go to flight school and then study aerospace or mechanical engineering.ā Mrs. Mehlert added, āShe is always willing to help her peers in Aviation.ā Savannah was award her āSee the Visionā award at Roosevelt High School not only because of her academic achievement and determination but also because of her willingness to be a wonderful classmate. Joining Savannah in recognition of her āSee the Visionā award are two Roosevelt HS Administrators ā Mrs. Katie Heavlin and Mr. Lance Luitjens. Congratulations, Savannah!

Biomed 1 students learned about infectious disease. To diagnose the infection, they streaked bacteria on Petri dishes and then Gram stained to view under the microscope.

āI plan to use my CTE experiences in college animal science courses and in my future career working with animals.ā Those are the words of Abbie Johnson, a senior from Jefferson High School. Her teacher, Mr. Jensen says, āAbbie Johnson has a passion for animal science!ā Out talented Cavalier brings great questions and a smile to class every day. Abbie makes students feel welcomed to class. She gives constructive comments to help her peers to become better at what they do. Her classmates report that she is helpful when they have questions about assignments and projects. Other students report that they enjoy her sense of humor and her enthusiasm for class and labs. Abbie, we know you are interested in pursuing a degree in Biology or a Pre-Vet and we also know that you bring the promise of great effort and a great attitude! Congratulations ā You are a āSee the Visionā award winner!

Kaitlyn Hallem, a senior from Lincoln High School, has her eyes set on being a veterinary technician. Kaitlyn enrolled in our Small Animal Science class this fall and plans to be in Large Animal Science in the spring semester. Our outstanding Agriculture student has an aptitude for working with animals and she also has some great people skills that will only boost her career aspirations. Her teacher, Mr. Jensen, has said that Kaitlyn comes to class ready to learn, is always ready to lend a hand to her peers and asks great questions. Our Lincoln Patriot plans to attend Southeast Technical College next year and pursue a degree as a veterinarian technician. Kaitlyn, we think your willingness to learn and your willingness to engage with your peers means career success! Congratulations ā you are a winner of CTEās āSee the Visionā award!
