Students participated in an M&M activity to understand standard distribution and took on the Prisoner’s Dilemma—exploring the big question: to share or not to share? 🤔
🎓 Admissions with Jack Smith
Students learned about USD’s 16:1 student-teacher ratio and explored over 200+ organizations—highlighting both academic and social opportunities on campus!
🌍 Ishmael Quaye – Graduate Assistant
Shared valuable insights on study abroad, peer advising, tutoring, and academic support available to business majors.

Students dove into a stock activity and gained key investing insights:

Welding students from all across the Sioux Falls School District recently had the opportunity to put their skills to the test in the 7th annual Marmen Energy Weld-Off Competition! This fun-filled day gave students the opportunity to tour Marmen Energy, the Southeast Technical College campus, and come to the CTE Academy to see who could put their bead down best.
This day was really a celebration of the trade of welding. Sponsors of the event were on site to provide students with door prizes and info on potential future career paths. Each student put their skills to the test at CTE where they welded a small tool carrying case that was later judged by a group of professionals. At the end of the day an awards ceremony was held and the winners were announced. Fabulous (welding related) prizes were given out to the top students, and **drum roll please** Washington High School took home the Top Program Award!

Our Agriculture classes spent the day exploring three incredible local farms, getting a firsthand look at the variety of farming styles right here in our community!
Tour 1: Berrybrook Organics 🥚🍦
From organic eggs and fresh produce to grass-fed beef, pork, and even organic ice cream—this stop had it all! Students learned how organic farming supports both health and sustainability.
Tour 2: Prairie Roots Produce 🥕🌽
An amazing organic produce farm growing just about every vegetable you can imagine! Students saw the hard work that goes into spring planting and what it takes to keep a farm running during a busy season.
Tour 3: Scenic View Farms 🐂🐂
Home to Shorthorn Angus and Scottish Highland cattle, this stop gave students a real look at livestock production. With calving in full swing, they witnessed both the challenges producers face and the dedication it takes to care for animals.
